A graduate of the prestigious Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, I am Khurram H. Alavi. I have spent my initial years learning the many aspects involved when creating animated content. From scripts and boards to character designs and beyond, I have devoted the last 20 years of my life solely to the art form that is animation. Moving forward with a passion to forge brave new worlds and the characters that inhabit them, I dream, develop, write, sculpt, and oversee all creative processes. Be it on-site or remotely.

My creative vision focuses on telling narratives that challenge traditional norms and resonate with audiences worldwide. Drawing inspiration from American, Chinese, and Japanese cinema, my storytelling style reflects the influence of filmmakers like Ridley Scott, Zhang Yimou, and Hayao Miyazaki.

I have worked as a Director, Writer, and Story Lead on two feature films, BILAL: A New Breed of Hero, and Mirlo & the Magical Opus. In addition, I have contributed to regional animation projects like “The Adventures of Bilal & Ghufaira,” among others.

This space also displays a small collection of work done over the years, with world-renowned licenses.

For the past few years, I’ve been exploring generative AI in creative production. With over 20 years as a storyteller, digital artist, and animation filmmaker, I embraced this technology in 2022, joining creator programs to shape leading AI tools. I constantly explore workflows that amplify human creativity and pipelines that empower artists.

As a passionate advocate for equality and inclusion, I have faced, and continue to challenge, bias in a region still evolving in its embrace of these values. These experiences drive my mission to use art as a force for empathy, understanding, and representation.
